Proud Owners of an iTero® Element™ Digital Scanner
The iTero Element Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With our iTero Element Scanner, your doctors at Southwest Dental Group can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but it’s faster and can offer a superior clinical endpoint.
- No goop or gag to worry about
- Fast, accurate impression
- Ideal for Invisalign® and retainers
- See a simulation of your potential post-treatment smile
During the impression process, you can breathe or swallow as you normally would. You can even pause during the process if you need to sneeze or just want to ask a question. The scanner gives us a 3D model of your mouth that we use with all Invisalign® dental services to show you what your new smile might look like.
Acteon CBCT Scanner
Three dimensional imaging for any medical purpose was originally available through hospitals and outpatient centers only. With emerging technology, not only have CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) scanners become available for use in the field of dentistry, the images are processed with a fraction of the radiation that a traditional medical CT scan would deliver. This technology allows us the ability to detect, diagnose and treat in ways that were not possible with 2D “flat films” in traditional dentistry.
This technology allows us to cut down the time you spend in the dental chair for treatment during surgical implant placement and root canal therapy. CBCT provides a digital model to determine ideal implant placement location, and a road map to complicated root anatomy when providing root canal therapy. We are very excited to announce this cutting edge technology has arrived to our dental office in Orland Park, IL… and we can’t wait to show you the possibilities!
Digital Radiography
Digital x-rays are the newest technology used in dentistry near Orland Park, IL to take and archive dental x-rays. Digital x-rays significantly reduce the amount of radiation as compared to traditional dental x-rays. This technique captures a digital picture of teeth with their supporting bone structures and stores the images on a computer in our dental office. You and your doctors will be able to instantly view your x-rays and enlarge the image to aid in the identification of dental problems and to gauge your dental health. Your doctors at Southwest Dental Group will use this information to create an individualized treatment plan.
Intra-Oral Camera
Taking pictures of the teeth and supporting tissue with a small video camera about the size of a pen is a wonderful addition to dentistry today. The intra-oral camera creates digital images that can be stored on a computer. The images are shared with our patients so they can join us in the "co-diagnosis" of problems with their dental health. Your doctors can show you how others view your smile and which dental fillings are broken or discolored. We look forward to showing you a dental tour of your mouth in the privacy of your treatment room.
Diode Laser
Our Diode Laser is the gold standard in conservative soft tissue surgery. It emits a highly-concentrated beam of light that allows us to minimize post-operative pain, bleeding and the need for pain medication in many cases. With it we can eliminate bacteria living under the gum line, provide frenectomies, remove inflamed and infected tissue leaving behind healthy tissue and even provide a gum lift to perfect your smile.
Zoom In-Office Whitening
Zoom whitening has become one of the most popular teeth whitening treatments in Orland Park, IL available, for many reasons. One of the main ones is that the results are quick and long-lasting. With other tooth whitening options, they may take weeks or even months to generate results. They often require you to put in a lot of efforts, such as putting a product in your mouth every day or using a special brushing technique or toothpaste. Zoom whitening requires much less of a commitment, and you can have a new smile within days, as opposed to within weeks.
